PERSON
Person is the new alt-indie rock project from Brighton, UK by songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Sam Beer-Pearce. Although this project's incarnation is new with a full album release on the way, Beer-Pearce has been composing and performing professionally for various groups, including The Wedding Present (lead guitar and co-writing on full lengths Going, Going... and 24 Songs), in addition to film scoring and media composition.
Person embodies super-group appeal with Beer-Pearce on vocals and lead guitar, Pepe le Moko on bass (also of The Wedding Present fame), Nick Wellauer on drums (Animal House) and Dylan Beattie on keys (known in the experimental sound scene as Furrowed). Person started with Beer-Pearce writing, singing, playing and recording/mixing a handful of tracks on his own in 2020 solely for streaming, sharing his complex yet catchy tunes matched to masked quirky videos.
This caught the attention of Radio BBC Introducing with radio play for “Pulse of Blood,” hailed as a “pop banger” by Melita Dennet (2023). This was followed by playlisting of “Cherryade” on BBC Music Introducing Mixtape with Tom Robinson and two tracks featured on Fresh On The Net (“Sweet Like Rosa” and “Sliver”) in 2023. However, after recruiting le Moko, Wellauer, and Beattie and playing their first gigs, Person quickly caught wider attention in alternative rock circles, ready to move from radio to the stage.
Person’s debut album, Missing Person, features kaleidoscopic sound that echoes authentic 90's alternative rock in feel and tone, woven with orchestral elements (piano, strings, and horns), subtle progressive rock, and a hint of 70s guitars (think Bowie or Queen). Person's accessible but wholly genuine sound ranges from upbeat mixtape-worthy rock songs to complex art rock ballads a la Radiohead, with at-times darker lyrics housed under Beer-Pearce's warm and velvety vocals.
Missing Person is set to release late 2026, and the band is currently riding the momentum of both local buzz from gigs and enthusiasm for the debut release to lock in festival bookings and tour packages in 2026 and beyond.
